Synopsis

Roy Parker-Saladino, Julien's Auctions' pop culture specialist, arrives at Jim Henson Studios and finds Timmy, a puppet eager to bid in the 70th Anniversary Auction but unsure where to begin. The two work through online registration, lot browsing —among them a Labyrinth goblin helmet— and maximum-bid settings. The tutorial uses Henson's characteristic humor to walk fans through a live event spanning over 400 lots, including more than 80 handcrafted puppets from Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, and the Muppets.

Context & Trivia

Timmy is an original Jim Henson Studios character, built specifically for this campaign. Casting a puppet in a bidding-instructions tutorial —rather than a conventional human spokesperson— was a decision driven directly by Lisa Henson, CEO of The Jim Henson Company: making a functional how-to video into something consistent with the company's philosophy, where puppets are the natural medium of communication, not a decorative addition.

The video launched on 22 October 2025 as the opening of the campaign for the company's first official archive auction. The live event concluded on 25 November 2025 at the historic Hollywood lot The Jim Henson Company once acquired from Charlie Chaplin's estate, bringing to market over 80 handcrafted puppets from productions including Fraggle Rock, Labyrinth, and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance —pieces that had never previously been available to the public.
