Norman Chan visits Garner Holt Productions for a close look at an animatronic bust of Abraham Lincoln. With founder Garner Holt, he examines its facial expressions, the mechanisms beneath the skin, and the possibilities the technology offers theme parks, museums, and other storytelling venues.
Context & Trivia
Garner Holt Productions unveiled the bust in 2017 as the first figure in its Living Faces of History line and as a tribute to the animatronic Lincoln that inspired Garner Holt. Its face contains 45 independent mechanical functions and flexible silicone skin that forms wrinkles and creases while moving. Joey Fameli shot and edited the Tested report.
