Synopsis
In this short film, the members of the idol group Aqours are portrayed as puppets. The plot follows the girls as they embark on a series of fairytale-inspired adventures, facing challenges and meeting fantastic characters on their journey to become school idols. The entire story unfolds as a dream experienced by Riko Sakurauchi.

This 15-minute short film was created by Sunrise, the animation studio behind the Love Live! Sunshine!! franchise, as an April Fool's joke in 2017. Despite its humorous origin, considerable effort was put into the puppet creation and staging. The nine members of the idol group Aqours are represented by puppets, and their original voice actresses (Anju Inami, Rikako Aida, Nanaka Suwa, Arisa Komiya, Shuka Saito, Aika Kobayashi, Kanako Takatsuki, Aina Suzuki, and Ai Furihata) provide their voices. The puppetry technique used involves hand and rod puppets, allowing the characters to interact in settings that recreate elements from Japanese folk tales such as Urashima Tarō, Kachi-kachi Yama, and Momotarō, as well as the tale of The Three Little Pigs. A notable recurring character is a coelacanth puppet that acts as an antagonist.
