Synopsis
In this 2007 video for the New York rock band's single, a puppet built in the likeness of Morningwood singer Chantal Claret, created by Jim Henson Studio veteran James W. Wojtal Jr., plays a party girl trying to survive a wild night of downtown nightlife. The puppet stumbles through bars and streets interacting with real New Yorkers, and by the video's end transforms into the flesh-and-blood singer herself. Visual effects and compositing were handled by the New York studio Guava, blending puppetry with live-action, documentary-style footage of the city.
Context & Trivia
The lead puppet was built by James W. Wojtal Jr., a veteran puppet builder from the Jim Henson Studio and the Broadway musical Avenue Q, sculpted in the likeness of singer Chantal Claret.
