The Fuzzy Puppet Show
Trailer
Synopsis
A goofy orange hand puppet named Fuzzy goes on adventures with his friends Frisbee, Snowflake, Gergu, and Clucks the Chicken. Through play and everyday situations, the group works through themes like sharing, healthy eating, and kindness to animals. Some episodes take them to outer space or a zoo, and the series alternates live-action puppet segments with claymation animation sequences.
Context & Trivia
Brandon Kaplan conceived the series entirely on his own: he designed the project, directs every episode, and voices Fuzzy, the lead character. The puppet is a Muppet-style hand puppet—orange, expressive, and deliberately simply built—that draws on the tradition of educational puppet characters like Elmo or Cookie Monster from 'Sesame Street', while operating as an independent production launched on YouTube on May 4, 2015.
What sets the series apart in craft terms is the coexistence, within a single children's format, of hand puppetry and claymation animation sequences—two handcrafted techniques with very different production logics. Its later distribution on Amazon Prime Video and translation into Spanish, Italian, Russian, and Korean speak to an international reach unusual for a production of such modest origins.
