Devil Penguin
Synopsis
Two BonIce penguins, Boni and his sidekick, argue down in hell about how to "spice up" Mexico. Boni pitches the new BonIce Doble Endiablado, with two intense flavors and an extra packet of chamoy. The commercial shows off the product and its features while the penguins keep up their antics.
Context & Trivia
BonIce commercials, a brand of frozen treats owned by the Colombian company Quala, often feature the "BonIce Penguins" as main characters. These puppets are designed, created, and animated by AXXO ART, a company that has worked on multiple BonIce campaigns in Mexico, Colombia, and Ecuador. Hand puppet manipulation is prominent in these advertisements, where the penguins interact comically to promote the product's different flavors. The relevance of puppets in these campaigns is central, as the penguins are the brand's image and their dialogues and actions drive the commercials' narrative.
