Synopsis

Juan D and Beatriz arrive in Luna Lunera aboard a musical rocket and invite the Lunnis and a group of children on a new intergalactic trip. The young participants choose a themed planet devoted to subjects such as body parts, letters, weekdays, animals or numbers. At each destination, Juan D and Beatriz introduce a song and simple choreography while Lucho, Lublú, Lupita and Lulila share the journey. The short segments combine music, movement, puppet comedy and audience participation to reinforce an educational idea through repetition and play.

Context & Trivia

RTVE announced El cohete musical on 28 November 2011 and launched it on Clan the following day within the weekday-morning Los Lunnis strand. Juan D and Beatriz joined the established puppet characters as singers and dancers, travelling to a different educational planet in each segment. Children returned to the Sant Cugat studios and helped select the destination, restoring direct young-audience participation to the programme. RTVE Play now presents the material as a large online catalogue whose interface reports 140 items; the surviving clips are generally short musical pieces rather than conventional full-length episodes. A twelve-song CD/DVD derived from the project followed in July 2012.
