Synopsis

The demon Sutekh dispatches his servants, the Totems, to eliminate those who possess the secret of animation, including André Toulon's magic. A young scientist, Rick Myers, working on artificial intelligence, discovers Toulon's puppets and the life-giving serum. The puppets, now acting as protectors, must defend Rick and his friends from the Totem attacks, with the help of a new puppet, Decapitron.

Context & Trivia

This fourth installment of the *Puppet Master* franchise marks a shift in the puppets' dynamic, as they transition from antagonists to protectors of the human protagonists. The film introduces a new puppet, Decapitron, which can swap heads with different abilities and, in this installment, contains the essence of André Toulon himself. The concept for Decapitron was taken from an unproduced screenplay by Empire Pictures, Charles Band's previous company. The classic Toulon puppets featured in the film include Blade, Pinhead, Jester, Tunneler, and Six-Shooter. *Puppet Master 4* and its sequel, *Puppet Master 5: The Final Chapter*, were filmed back-to-back in February 1993.
