Synopsis

The film's story of a family vacation gone horribly wrong combines with the backstage drama of a movie shoot gone horribly wrong. It tells the bizarre tale of fertilizer salesman-turned-film director Harold P. Warren, with song and dance numbers, and puppets.

'Manos: The Hands of Felt' is a puppet musical adaptation of the infamous 1966 cult classic film, 'Manos: The Hands of Fate,' widely regarded as one of the worst movies ever made. The idea for the puppet version originated with puppeteer Rachel Jackson, who developed it into a live show. Following a successful Kickstarter campaign in May 2013, 'Manos: The Hands of Felt' was performed again in Seattle by Vox Fabuli Puppets in August 2013 and filmed for DVD release. The puppet film not only re-imagines the original plot but also combines it with the backstage drama of the original movie's disastrous shoot, telling the bizarre tale of fertilizer salesman-turned-film director Harold P. Warren. The Muppet-style puppets were created by Rachel Jackson and Paul Velasquez. The puppet film pays homage to the original, featuring characters, scenes, and songs, and adding a healthy dose of puppet mayhem.
