This documentary tells the life story of José Lucas García, known as Pepe García, an emblematic puppeteer from Mar del Plata, Argentina. The film explores how Pepe captivated generations of children and adults with his puppets for over 40 years. The work pays tribute to his career, from his beginnings to his recognition as a cultural figure in the city, including his designation as "Distinguished Neighbor" in 2013.

Pepe García, born in San Miguel de Tucumán in 1933, began his puppetry career in Mar del Plata in 1966, after leaving his administrative job at YPF. He was known for his characters such as Foforito, El diablo Pata fría, and Josefina the giraffe. Pepe García's puppetry tradition continues through his children, Pablo and Cristina García, who accompanied him in his shows and formed the group "Los 4 Gatos," which is still active today. Pablo García, at just 10 years old, performed his first puppet show, filling in for his father at Sacoa. Cristina García, in addition to being a puppeteer, studied Chemical Engineering. Pepe García used hand puppets and glove puppets, and had a room full of them, rotating them to create new stories.
