Synopsis
Masha, a literary translator, leads a solitary and orderly life after her divorce. When financial difficulties force her to accept a job as an interpreter for Tom, an English puppeteer giving workshops in Moscow, her quiet world begins to unravel. Despite their opposing personalities, their mutual isolation draws them together, and they fall in love. In the end, Masha feels ready to start a new life.
Context & Trivia
In the film, the puppeteer Tom (played by Jethro Skinner) is always accompanied by Diggy, his glove puppet. Diggy functions as Tom's alter ego and his only friend and advisor, allowing him to express his true feelings and desires through the puppet's actions. Tom constantly interacts with Diggy, arguing and listening to his advice as if it were his inner voice.
