Synopsis
Elmo and Abby Cadabby arrive at Count von Count's castle for a Halloween night that keeps slipping out of control: there's 'The Batty Bat' to dance, decorations to tally, and a runaway pumpkin that has made off with Elmo's hat. The Count, constitutionally unable to let anything go uncounted, anchors every chaotic twist with his signature arithmetic devotion.
Context & Trivia
This Sesame Street Halloween special, released on DVD on August 29, 2017, is notable for being the last Sesame Street home video to contain newly-produced linking footage. The main characters, Elmo (performed by Ryan Dillon), Abby Cadabby (performed by Leslie Carrara-Rudolph), and Count von Count (performed by Matt Vogel), are Muppet-style puppets, a direct manipulation technique that allows for great expressiveness. Tyler Bunch also participates as a puppeteer, bringing the runaway pumpkin to life.
