Synopsis
A behind-the-scenes documentary that goes inside the making of Netflix's The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, following director Louis Leterrier and the Jim Henson Company's puppeteers, model makers and painters as they bring the handcrafted world of Thra to life. Featuring interviews with Taron Egerton, Natalie Dormer, Simon Pegg and Jason Isaacs, the film traces the project's long journey from an abandoned feature sequel to an all-puppet prequel series. Directed by Randall Lobb, it was released on Netflix on August 30, 2019.

Directed by Randall Lobb, known for behind-the-scenes documentaries on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, the film was shot with on-set access granted by series director Louis Leterrier, who invited the documentary's cinematographer, Isaac Elliott-Fisher, to film alongside him throughout production. The documentary covers the puppet-building process at Jim Henson's Creature Shop and includes interviews with puppeteers, model makers and painters from the production, as well as concept artist Brian Froud — who worked with Jim Henson on the original 1982 film — discussing his design process for Thra's creatures.
