Synopsis
A mockumentary-style pilot centered on Bobby Vegan, a fading Hollywood star who happens to be a pig, and his partner and manager Samson Knight, a bull. Between dodged auditions, a marathon shopping spree and raising a teenage foster son, the couple tries to keep their careers and relationship intact without losing their glamour.
Context & Trivia
Produced for the LGBT-oriented network Logo, the pilot aired on November 2, 2007 as part of the "Alien Boot Camp" block and was not picked up, but its two puppet leads outlived the cancellation: they hosted an Adventures by Disney tour video about the Henson studio lot, introduced the 2010 stage show "Stuffed and Unstrung," and reappeared in 2018 at a Henson tribute event honoring Caroll Spinney. Bill Barretta performed Bobby Vegan with Michelan Sisti as assistant puppeteer, and Brian Henson performed Samson Knight assisted by Drew Massey; characters were designed by Gene Barretta and built by a team including Jane Gootnick, Michael Oosterom and Scott Johnson, among others.
