Synopsis
A children’s variety show set in a circus, hosted in its different periods by Los Payasos de la Tele and, during its 1990s revival, by Miliki and Rita Irasema. It combines circus acts, songs, games and comedy sketches; the final edition added a group of talkative puppets to its adventures.
Context & Trivia
The puppets belong to the final two seasons of El Gran Circo de TVE’s revival, hosted by Miliki and Rita Irasema from 1993 to 1995. Deliciosa Royala, the original name of the team later known as Muñecos Animados Román y Cía, handled puppet design, construction, maintenance and performance, and also advised on scripts and staging. The group was known on screen as Los Telepeleles.
