Synopsis

Kermit the Frog approaches Warburtons chairman Jonathan Warburton to propose a new ad campaign for their "Giant Crumpets". The entire Muppet gang sings a variant of "The Muppet Show Theme" in a factory, promoting the new giant crumpets. In the end, Warburton approves of the idea, though Statler and Waldorf typically thumb it down.

Context & Trivia

This two-minute advertisement, titled "The Giant Crumpet Show," was launched as part of a £25 million campaign to introduce Warburtons' new "Giant Crumpets." It premiered on November 14, 2015, during The X Factor on ITV. The commercial was directed by Muppet regular Kirk R. Thatcher and Declan Lowney. It features several iconic Muppet characters, including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Statler and Waldorf, Animal, Sweetums, The Swedish Chef, and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew. Jonathan Warburton, chairman of Warburtons, also appears in the ad. The campaign was highly successful, being rated as the most successful Christmas ad of 2015 in the UK. The advertisement includes local references to Manchester and Bolton, such as the Arndale shopping centre and the TV series Coronation Street, with the Muppets even holding "I love Bolton" mugs.
