This 2016 music video was released as a promotion for the mid-season return of "The Muppets" (2015) television series, which aired on ABC from September 2015 to March 2016. The "The Muppets" series was a mockumentary-style sitcom that explored the everyday personal and professional lives of the Muppets during the production of a fictional late-night talk show called "Up Late with Miss Piggy." The original "The Muppet Show Theme" song was written by Jim Henson and Sam Pottle in 1976 and has been a staple of the Muppets franchise. Over the years, the song's opening sequences have evolved visually, but the musical composition has remained substantially the same. The 2016 video features over 60 Muppets, including some surprising appearances. Steve Whitmire voiced Kermit the Frog until 2016, when Matt Vogel took over the role.
