Synopsis
Hand puppets shaped like potatoes perform 'Los Patatas' by the Spanish band of the same name. No humans appear on screen — the puppets' movement and expressiveness carry the entire visual weight of the piece.
Context & Trivia
Muñecos Animados Román y Cía conceived and co-produced the series with Boomerang, Szena, Telemadrid, Canal Sur and Televisión Castilla-La Mancha. Manuel Román directed the series and designed its puppets; Javier Gallego, Armando Ángeles and Charlie Martínez built them. Guillermo Gil and Eduardo Guerrero directed the puppet animation, and a nine-person performance team brought the family to life with hand-and-rod puppets rather than digital characters.
