Glove Puppets

A glove puppet is worn directly on the hand. The index finger usually supports the head while the thumb and another finger move the arms; the hand and forearm give the figure its body beneath the costume. It is a light, immediate and widely practised technique, found in traditions as different as Britain's Punch and Judy, France's Guignol, Pulcinella in Italy and Chinese budaixi.
